Cruise is truly a joy to be around! His contagious smile and happy-go-lucky attitude make him a very special golden. Known to those who love him as " the class clown" he continuously finds ways to have fun wherever he goes but this doesn't hinder his achievements. Cruise shows a natural aptitude for virtually every venue he has ventured into and has a lot of drive and willingness to please. Whether field work, lure coursing, dock diving, obedience, agility, or conformation Cruise does it all with style and a smile! At the age of 9 months he received RWD from the 9-12 month puppy class and at 10 months Cruise took WD/BOW for his first AKC Championship points also from the 9-12 month puppy class. At the age of 11 months Cruise was honored to received a puppy BOB from respected breeder judge Barbara Pepper and a Puppy Sporting Group 2. He then entered his first two UKC shows and went BOB twice with a Gun Dog Group 3 and 4 all before his 1st birthday. He then completed his UKC Championship with 2 BOB wins over grand champions, as well as a Gun Dog Group 3 and a Gun Dog Group 1. He also received two more group placements and a Best In Show all before his 2nd birthday. Cruise easily completed his IABCA Championship in 3 straight shows with the highest ratings possible. AKC Star puppy, CGC, and CGCA all achieved before the age of 1 year old. DJ dock diving title achieved on his 1st birthday and within that same month he also earned his CGCU and the first leg towards a lure coursing title. Cruise received 3 first place scores to achieve his Rally Novice title with his junior handling him (her first time competing in rally) in the summer of 2016. He has multiple points toward his AKC championship including going WD/BOW/BOBOH over several of the top ranked owner handled goldens. Cruise has been shown by junior handler Claire to all of his points. Claire and Cruise earned many Best Junior Handlers and ended 2016 as the number 6 Golden Retriever/Junior Handler team in the country and were honored to be invited to the 2016 AKC Royal Canin Championship Dog Show in Orlando. They also were awarded the Golden Retriever Club of America Junior Handler Of The Year trophy for 2016. Currently he is concentrating on training in field and obedience and hopes to get a few new titles before returning to the show ring. Cruise is all owner-handled in all venues and primarily junior-handled and trained.
